Thanks to the beautiful location at the Belgian coast, there’s always something to discover in De Panne, for young and old, throughout the year. You don’t even have to go far, the architectural highlights of the Dumont quarter, built in the 19th and 20th century, give the landscape a unique appearance, perfectly compatible with the dunes. By the way, you’ll find our first building where once stood the villa “l’Oiseau Bleu” of the renowned Architect Dumont, right in the middle of a nice piece of history of De Panne.
During the last century, unfortunately World War I reached the quiet coastal region and surroundings and caused the destruction of a great part of its history. In Diksmuide and Heuvelland (Ypres), among others, you can still visit monuments, military cemeteries and trenches. The Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres shows and tells you the history of the First World War, a must sea for young and old.

De Panne, surrounded by beach and nature, is the ideal starting point for numerous trips and excursions. Nature lovers will certainly find what they’re looking for. Can you imagine anything more relaxing than a walk with your feet in the water enjoying a sunset? Enjoy endless walking, jogging or biking in the protected nature reserves of the Westhoek, Oosthoek and Houtsaeger dunes. More of a forest lover? Than take a walk in the Calmeyn forest, 66 acres of walking pleasure.
Discover the Moëres, a cycling paradise in the middle of the Flemish and French polders or take a walk on the widest and most beautiful beach of the Belgian coast.
Rather the sporty type? For the tennis enthusiasts we recommend the tennis club l’Armorial where you can play tennis in peaceful and wooded surroundings. Do you prefer other outdoor sports like surfing and sailing? No worries, in De Panne you’ll find a Surfing and Sailing Club. Moreover, the golf courses of Koksijde and Bergues (France) are not far away.
